black nails

I just decided one day to paint my nails black. It was there, I was wearing the right outfit, we were going to a concert that night.... you know, all the reason to paint them black.

It was kinda fun, but looked just plain 'yuck' when it started to chip off (which was the next day, probably b/c it was el cheapo)

And it hit me.

"How in the world am I gonna get this stuff off my hands without turning them dingy blackish gray?" I don't like it when that happens.

Well, I accidentally got some tape stuck on my finger at work and when I ripped it off, the black paint came off too!

Eureka! I found my answer - no polish remover... just a couple pieces of scotch tape!
Check it out:
This is the "starting to chip yuckiness" I was talking about.

I apply tape like so:
RIP! And the paint comes off!
Do it a few more times and you can see the results:
And for this special offer of just 4 easy payments of $0.50 - this magic tape can be yours! No more remover, staining, and scrubbing your nails clean. Have it all, with Magic Tape!

how I eat a reese cup

Did you think that I had forgotten about sharing my weird eat habits?? No way! It is way to much fun documenting each step in devouring candy!

First, we meet..."hello cup"
"hello woman"

I gaze tenderly....
And then barbarically rip open the wrapper!

Step one is to nimble
(I nibble a lot when eating candy... especially the individually wrapped. They are baby versions of the real thing - cute)The pinkie must always be up.... and no, I do not have a spot of tea with this treat either (or should I say i-ther)
Basically I am nibbling off all the chocolaty edges - usually using both hands so that I can rotate the cup in an efficient manner num num num num num num num yup it is usually about 7 "nums" until the cup has turned into this:
Just the pure peanut buttery yum center.
A'las, the bite I have been waiting for. I call it: The 1/2 Moon

And the long awaited 2nd bite! I call it: The Triangular P.B.

And enough with the bite sized bites of an already bite size candy, SHEEH!
A lick of the fingers
and THE END!

Ain't nothin' but wrapper baby!

how I eat a kit kat

So we went out and grabbed more than a necessary amount of clearance Halloween candy on Sunday, and Jonathan and I got into a discussion on how I have a very unique way of eating just about every candy bar on this earth (and a lot of different food to, I might add). So I decided to start a blog series entitled, "how I eat....."

Fun huh??

Well lets start with a favorite. The Kit Kat.
The yummy wafer goodness is just about as much as I can handle.....
There's desire in those eyes for bite#1
Here goes nothing:
I start by nibbling off the chocolate edges, starting with the 2 long sides and then a quick bite at each end!
num num num num nummyAnd, yes! I always have the pinkie finger up (spot of tea, anyone??)
This is what I consider a fine nibble job. See, the wafer goodness...... oooo la la
and I still have on chocolate end to bite off!here is the end product post nibble festYumm! It is time to enjoy! yum yum yummy. I did take a picture of the "yum yum yummy" step, but that was rather, well, umm... messy ;o)

Break me off a piece 'a that kit kat bar!

we're almost famous!

A loooooong time ago, probably back last very early spring (whenever it was still pretty cold out) - Jonathan, his momma and I went to our most favorite lil' chocolate shop, Le Chocolat in downtown Naperville. We like it there. It is always so warm, cozy and quaint. Not to mention they have very delicious treats.

Personal favs include, but are surely not limited to the carmel toastie, English toffee, Bailey's Irish cream cake and the turtles

Anyway... back to the story. So we were there one evening enjoying some treats and quality time together and this man from the Chicago Tribune comes up to us, carrying a huge camera and bag with all the goods and asks us if we would be willing to take a few photos. Come to find out he was doing a piece for the Metro Mix!

"Umm sure..." we said.

The owner of Le Chocolat said that they were going to run it the following Thursday and they would have copies of it in the store. Since Cookies Cutters was little down the block from there, I thought I would hop over the following week and see if we made it into the Tribune!

Oddly, the paper was never available.... so we just thought... "boo, it would have been cool to see if we actually made it into the CHICAGO TRIBUNE!!!"

Months later, we get a call from our friends - and guess where they were and what they saw!!??

"You guys are in the wall at Le Chocolat!"

"What??"

"Yeah.. you are in some news paper article, framed and up on their wall!"

check it out!

Yup, that is definitely the hubster and I in that pictorial!
We just had to make a trip there to see the evidence. So why the heck not turn it into a lil' date time?
And our yummy treats...I got the caramel toastie... and ate the little square of goodness sooooo slowly, savoring every bite!
Jonathan got some like a peanut butter cup, but obviously a much better version of the Reese cup. It was pretty good, but awwwww, the toastie....

So there you have it. Almost fame! We felt special. And people that were in the shop kept asking us if that was us in the picture :o) If you live in the area and are ever in downtown Naperville - stop in there!

just to fun not to share

I was going through our pictures, because Jonathan wants me to print off some for him to put on his desk at work. While reminiscing, I stumbled across these great shots from our honeymoon.

These picture were just to much fun, I had to share them :o)

Nice backside, hubby!

I think we were in Playa del Carmen, where they kept yelling "Hey Yankee!" or "Hey Miami" at Jonathan...

When we finally starting picking up on it... we could not figure out why everyone kept calling him that... ?? And then we put 2 and 2 together, and realized he was wearing a Miami football shirt and a Yankees hat! duh!

We got to hold a monkey....And a bird pooped on Jonathan's head!! hehe...
That was so funny.

We had a dinner on the beach-
and they served us lobster....

I was thinking, ummmm, eeewww! But said to myself "Oh, what the heck.. I'm on vacation... why not ?? .....
I was clearly NOT a fan...
So Jonathan finished mine, like he usually does at every meal ;o)
And then they brought us a special treat!

We kinda liked it!

I love my hub! We had a great time there
